My father was instrumental in creation of the Brown County Chapter of the American Rimfire Association (ARA). My father spoke of his experiences in the ARA and suggested I join.  I started Precision .22 Caliber Shooting in the spring of 2005.
The first year, I used my father’s Martini rifle.  Although, I placed occasionally using the Martini, my father dominated the matches using his Cooper Sporter Rifle.
My father learned of the production of a Cooper Bench Rest Rifle.  He jumped at the chance to order the rifle. Unsure of the delivery time, he ordered another Bench Rest Rifle in order to compete in the upcoming season. The rifles came a few months apart so I was given the Cooper to use.
I loved the Cooper from the first time I shot it.  I shot the Cooper 57m for the 2006 season. I won first place in the South Dakota State Championship with a top target score of 2275. I shot a 2200 target score in the last match of the 2006 season.  I did not alter the Cooper Bench Rest Rifle in any way.  I did add the basic accessories of a scope, tuner, and a Henrich Device.  My father and the Cooper Bench Rest Rifle have helped me achieve my success in Rimfire Precision Shooting.

This is a photo of my Model 52 in 25-06 on my recent antelope hunt. The first load tested went .5" and after only one range session I was ready to go. The antelope was right at 225 yards and went right down.  He ended up scoring 81" and is the first of many animals I will take with this rifle. Just got the Leupold  back with turrets on it and going to get serious  this winter with it.
Take care,
Kurt
